Whereby Worcestershire is identified as the designated LA area for a Child in Need A child under 18 years of age who is pregnant or has a baby and they are both either or have level 4 needs as children in Need.

Transfer process The LCS transfer episode will be completed by the transferring out locality /team. This will identify the type of child in need case and the date of the next CIN review meeting or a proposed transfer point / date.

The transfer episode in LCS should be sent to the correct Safeguarding CIN district team tray in LCS for that child’s home address.

The Advanced Social Worker for that pod will review the transfer request and respond within 5 working days to the allocated worker/ Team Manager by either: 1) agreeing attendance at the next CIN meeting to resume case responsibility 2) agreeing a transfer point which supports the family and avoids delay wherever possible. 3) escalate to TM and/ or GM where there is concern transfer is not appropriate for the family.
