Randstad are supporting a Sheffield based client to recruit for an experienced adults Social Worker within their MASH first contact team.

Job Description:

As a MASH First Contact Team Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the initial screening and assessment of referrals concerning Adults at risk. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that adults at risk receive the right support at the right time, enhancing the safety and outcomes for vulnerable adults.

  • Receive and screen referrals from various sources, including professionals, families, and the public.
  • Undertake initial assessments and gather information from relevant agencies to determine the level of risk and required response.
  • Make informed decisions on the necessary course of action, including signposting to appropriate services or escalating for further intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals from health, police, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all referrals and actions taken in line with organisational policies and legal requirements.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and contribute to the development of safeguarding plans.
  • Provide advice and support to referrers and other professionals on safeguarding concerns and procedures.
  • Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in adults protection and safeguarding within a multi-agency setting.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative framework and best practices in adult protection.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a high volume of referrals.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare of adults and ensuring their voices are heard.
