Job Description

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Location: Midlands

Travel: 50% travel

Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 per annum

We have an excellent opportunity for a water hygiene engineer / Trainee Legionella Risk Assessor to join our global organisation on a permanent basis. As a water hygiene engineer / Trainee Legionella Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out water hygiene task in line with ACOP L8/HSG274, including water temperature monitoring, tap & shower descales & water sampling. It would be beneficial for the candidate to have a good working knowledge of water systems or a water hygiene background.

As a split role the candidates working month will be approximately 75% water hygiene & 25% Trainee Legionella Risk Assessor. Where they will shadow & learn Legionella Risk assessing from other risk assessors.


The successful candidate will need to be flexible and have good communication skills, both written and verbal. A good work ethic is essential, as is the discipline to be able to work unsupervised and still achieve the required daily work output. The candidate will have a conscientious mindset with a positive approach to work and able to use initiative to work effectively in any given situation.

Good IT skills are required, particularly with regards to Microsoft Word & Outlook. Experience with Excel spreadsheets would also be beneficial.

Additional beneficial experience would include: -
  • Water temperature monitoring experience
  • Water sampling (Legionella, TVC and PSA)
  • TMV servicing
  • Shower head / outlet descale and disinfection
