Responsibilities and Duties:· Management of systems as appropriate ensuring that the IT & electronic communication infrastructure is available to all employees, outside of pre-planned system downtime, by the effective hands on management of IT equipment including system management, installation & component replacement.· The procurement, configuration and deployment of new server hardware and software, including asset & warranty registration, configuration and deployment of new server software, ongoing maintenance of such software and management of software licensing including data capture and reporting on resource deployment.· The procurement, installation, configuration and management of routing and switching equipment, firewalls and IP voice services. Monitoring performance and troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments.· Ensure systems and equipment security is maintained by ensuring anti-virus and software update systems are up to date and operational.Compliance with Group Security policies and ensuring all hardware is secured to current standards.· Manage server monitoring and reporting and maintain system availability and reliability.· Monitor and manage business critical databases and system integrity.· Troubleshoot systems hardware/software problems, liaise with 3rd party hardware & software suppliers to ensure problem resolution within agreed SLA.· Manage, co-ordinate and control the raising, progress and resolution of system incidents with 3rd parties and participation in incident and problem management. Provide technical support and information and assist in the delivery of system incident Root Cause Analysis reports.· Provide strategic support in terms of assessment and briefing information for senior management decisions on projects and enhancing operational procedures, raise relevant requests for changes, quotations and procurement.· Develop and maintain technical support processes, user manuals and other documentation as necessary to support service delivery.· Develop and maintain the IT company business continuity plan ensuring that the company is fully protected.· Recommend new technologies that can move the business forward and produce presentations that can be delivered to the board of directors and customers as requested.· Deliver the key objectives as set out and agreed in advance of employment.Knowledge and experience;· Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows Server & Desktop O/S based environments including Active Directory Management, Group Policy & OU design and general support issues.· Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, sub netting, OSI network layers, and other networking concepts.· Experience in managing business critical systems (i.e. Warehouse Management System).· Experience with web site development and management including IIS, HTML & PHP.· Experience with Microsoft SQL & Microsoft office 365 configuration & troubleshooting including RDBMS configuration, SQL / TSQL.· Experience with virtualization technologies (i.e. Hyper V, VMware) and SAN storage technologies.· Experience with monitoring, antivirus, anti-spam & security systems.Excellent communication & customer service skills.Previous proven experience in an IT Support role with broad exposure to a range of technologies, operating systems & environments.Excellent problem solving skills with fault finding experience & knowledgeExperience in training end users on IT business processes.Personal Attributes :FlexibleSelf-motivatedAbility to work on own initiative.Excellent time keepingQualifications :IT Degree, BTEC National Certificate/Diploma for IT Practitioners, Microsoft Certifications or equivalent qualification/experience.Training :Expected to maximise all training opportunities that are provided.This job was originally posted as
