Offering an exhibition gallery, events space, a library, a restaurant and a social retail floor which are all breathtaking to be around!PURPOSE OF THE ROLETo analyse monthly key financial indicators, from sales performance, to monitoring costs and stock reconciliations, highlighting key areas of focus for the coming months and to deliver regular reporting commentary. To help the retail management committee to make informed business decisions to push profitability and efficiency.To be responsible for all the financial accounting activities and reporting for the retail operation. To be the key source of financial data for the Retail Management Committee (RMC) and work with the Financial Controller on forecasting and budget planning, as well as responding to queries and providing expert advice that will shape the future of the retail operation.KEY DUTIES AND TASKSRetail Analysis & Management ReportingAnalytical support and reporting commentary to the retail team to help make sound business decisions across sales, margin, stock and layoutProvision of regular insight into the drivers of performancePerform ad hoc analysis to help assess the success of trading initiatives and activitiesProduct Planning Support including: OTB, import costs, margin, product lifecycle, supplier income analysis; concession performance; new product planning, promotional activity effectiveness and aging, writing down of stockStock reconciliations, quarterly cyclical counts, annual auditMonitor and address any inaccuracies or missing information between various data sourcesProduce accurate Management Reports (including sales reporting, profitability reporting, budgeting, and monthly forecasts)SKU profitability analysis, work alongside the retail teams to maximise the performance of product range (including: annual/weekly/daily performance vs targets; conversion and ATV; category and product return on space; top selling lines and availability) eCommerce for reporting for Trading Meeting including: sales to target; best sellers; product profitabilitySupporting with the annual budgeting process and subsequent iterations throughout the year for retail operationResponsible for all accounting activities for the retail operation including, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, payments, preparation of Management Accounts, Financial Reports & Retail Performance Analysis (KPI)Monthly costs variance analysis, including basic staff cost analysis.Reporting, monitoring costs and KPIs, and providing value-adding commentary to explain movements highlighting focal areas and challenging actionsProducing month end reporting including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow StatementPosting month-end journals to the general ledger including intercompany transactionsPROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEHold a finance-related bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university is preferredAccounting qualifications preferred (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA)A minimum of three years' experience Strong analytical and interpretation skills to identify opportunities and actively participate in the operational decision-making processAdvanced excel skills (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables)Ability to work with multiple systems including EPOS, eCommerce and stock control systems.Experience using Xero is advantageousAbility to effectively communicate and challenge senior stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen to manage financial performanceEffective presentational skills, both verbal and written with strong attention to detailAbility to work individually and as part of a teamSelf-starter with the ability to see the "bigger picture"Excellent time management skills, including ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlinesWORK ENVIRONMENTOur aim is for a flexible approach to work locations, balancing on site presence and working from home. The mix of office-based working and remote working will be determined by business need and role requirements.Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with core hours from 10am to 3pm.Flexible working, and part-time hours will be considered for this role
